Wine, History and Tastings Just Minutes from the Sea<\/h2>



Perched on the hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea, Montepagano<\/strong> is one of Abruzzo\u2019s most charming historic villages.
Every summer, the village comes alive with the Montepagano Wine Exhibition,<\/strong> an event dedicated to the wines and traditions of the region.

A landmark of Abruzzo\u2019s food and wine scene since 1972<\/strong>, the event attracts thousands of visitors and wine lovers every year, showcasing the very best local wineries and products.
Wine workshops, guided tastings<\/strong> and the opportunity to meet local producers highlight the perfect balance between respect for the land and innovation, offering a glimpse into the future of Abruzzo\u2019s winemaking tradition.

Since its 52nd edition, the Montepagano Wine Exhibition has adopted the name “Baccano” under its new management. The name recalls the ancient Bacchanalian celebrations held in honour of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, celebrating wine as the element that brings together culture, art and gastronomy in the heart of the village.<\/strong>
Now in its 54th edition, Montepagano Baccano continues to combine tradition and innovation while celebrating the outstanding wines and rolling hills of Abruzzo.



When<\/h3>
From 31 July to 2 August 2026,<\/strong> the village’s ancient streets will be filled with wineries, wine tastings, live music and local food.
Visitors can enjoy the tastings while strolling through the picturesque squares and narrow lanes of the medieval village.
Each participant will receive a tasting kit, including a printed wine glass and a practical shoulder glass holder to keep as a souvenir of the event.
To make the experience even more enjoyable, free shuttle buses will run from Roseto degli Abruzzi railway station to Montepagano throughout the event.
