{"id":4269,"date":"2026-03-22T11:27:47","date_gmt":"2026-03-22T10:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.campingsurabaja.it\/?p=4269"},"modified":"2026-04-16T13:01:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T11:01:44","slug":"sweets-from-abruzzo-easter-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.campingsurabaja.it\/en\/sweets-from-abruzzo-easter-pizza\/","title":{"rendered":"Sweets from Abruzzo:                                              Easter Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We keep on telling you the traditional recipes of Abruzzo and this time we focus on Easter: the Easter Pizza.<br>The name might mislead you into thinking of a flat bread, actually it looks much more like a cake.<br>It&#8217;s a dessert that requires a long rising split into three steps, the use of sourdough is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.campingsurabaja.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/pizza_Pasqua-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4271\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.campingsurabaja.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/pizza_Pasqua-2.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.campingsurabaja.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/pizza_Pasqua-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>History<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;history of this cake&nbsp;dates back to ancient times,&nbsp;it is eaten on Easter morning and the tradition says to bless&nbsp;the Easter Bread&nbsp;in church before eating it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quantity for 3 pizzas 600g<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 eggs<br>100g of seed oil<br>500g of flour<br>200g sugar<br>100ml warm milk<br>1 glass of limoncello or aniseed essence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>for sourdough:<br>200g flour<br>120ml water<br>10g fresh yeast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Making it<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Making the sourdough is the first step: put the flour in a bowl, melt the yeast in warm water and mix well. Let it stand for an hour and a half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the yeast is formed, add the warm milk, the oil, the eggs, the sugar, the limoncello (or anise) and the flour. Work everything vigorously to get a smooth dough, letting it rest overnight.<br>In the morning, knead the dough again and divide it into 3 parts of 600 grams which will be placed in paper forms. Leave to rest for another 3-4 hours.<br>Finally, bake it in a preheated oven at a temperature of 160 \u00b0 for 40-45 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Did you know?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a typical dish of central Italy and there are several versions, both sweet and savory.
